We are excited to announce that in celebration of our 100th Anniversary, we are giving away $100,000 in grants!

Ten, $10,000 grants will be awarded to local non-profits within our service territory.* It's our way of giving back to the community that has supported us throughout the years.

As part of our Versant Power charitable giving strategy, we’re engaging in projects that focus on collaboration and innovation while providing crucial services that benefit our neighbors and empower communities to be creative.  

Please note Versant Power’s charitable giving program does not support the following endeavors:

    • Religious activities
    • Fundraisers or benefits for individuals
    • Capital campaigns
    • School programming, after-school programs, school trips (including field trips), youth athletics programming
    • Graduation, proms, holiday parties or Project Graduation
    • Funding requests for travel expenses
    • Debt reduction or operating costs
    • For-profit organizations
    • Gifts-in-kind, such as utility poles
    • Service installation or requests for electricity

*Grants are not funded by ratepayer dollars. Application deadline August 1, 2024. Non-profit organization must be a registered 501(c)(3).

Versant Power provides electric delivery service to two areas – the Bangor Hydro District and the Maine Public District.

            The Bangor Hydro District includes Hancock, Piscataquis and Washington Counties and most of Penobscot County.
            The Maine Public District serves Aroostook County and a small piece of Penobscot County.
