Medium Customer Energy Supply Relief Credit

Versant Power is pleased to help facilitate the implementation of the energy supply relief credits for Medium Class customers. In April, Governor Janet Mills signed Public Law 2022, Chapter 168, “Resolve, To Help Certain Businesses with Electric Costs,” sponsored by Senate President Troy Jackson, which is aimed at helping Maine small businesses mitigate the impact of rising energy costs. As a result, a one-time credit will be applied to customer bills to help offset the Standard Offer Supply price increase customers experienced earlier in the year.

To be eligible for the credit, customers must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Medium class customer that received a Versant Power bill equal to or greater than 1,000kWh in February 2022
  2. Standard Offer was the electricity supplier on the February 2022 bill
  3. Eligible to receive Federal funding
  4. Active Versant Power customer at the time of credit application

A three-tiered kWh range credit will determine the amount of the credit applied:

  • Tier 1 is 1,000-49,999 kWh
  • Tier 2 is 50,000–100,000 kWh
  • Tier 3 is greater than 100kWh

To receive the credit, customers must return an attestation form mailed on August 25 to ensure you are able to receive Federal funding. A form must be returned for each service post marked by September 10 or emailed/faxed by September 15. Please ensure the entire form is visible, including the signature, in photo or scanned copies. Emailed forms can be sent to raterelief@versantpower.com.
