Renewable Resource Fund

Universities and communities in Maine are researching and developing new ways to produce renewable electricity using resources like wind, water, sun, wood, tides, fuel cells and geothermal technologies. With the Voluntary Renewable Resource Fund you can make a tax deductible contribution in support of these initiatives. And when you do, you help create jobs, provide power, and protect Maine’s environment.

How does the fund work?

The money is distributed by Efficiency Maine as rebates for cost-effective renewable energy technologies and grants for renewable energy demonstration and education projects around the state.

Contact Efficiency Maine at 1-866-376-2463 or email [email protected] for more information.

How can I contribute?

If you’d like to start contributing today, please fill out our electronic registration form. You'll also receive information about the Fund twice a year with your electric bill, which includes an enrollment form.

You can make a one-time donation, or choose to give a set amount each month. The amount will be reflected on your Versant Power bill and is in addition to your existing electric service and delivery charges. You may cancel at any time.

Make a contribution today and make a difference for tomorrow.
