| Bangor and Presque Isle, ME- Versant Power is pleased to announce that Erica Young will join the organization next year as president.
Erica will replace outgoing president John Flynn, who has announced plans to retire effective April 30, 2026, after more than 40 years in the utility industry and five years leading the Versant Power team.

Erica currently serves as Executive Vice President at ENMAX Energy, one of the companies operated by Versant Power’s corporate parent, ENMAX Corp., based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. ENMAX Energy serves approximately 550,000 electricity customers across Alberta. Previously, she served as ENMAX’s Chief Legal, Commercial and Regulatory Officer, and held other leadership roles with teams across the organization since joining ENMAX in 2016.

“When selecting new leadership, the Board of Directors has been guided by a robust succession planning process, with the goal to ensure stability and continuity for employees, customers and partners, reinforcing Versant’s critical role as a utility in Maine. In addition to Erica’s deep operational experience, proven leadership in regulatory and commercial initiatives, Erica also has valuable experience and familiarity with Versant. She played a leadership role in the Versant acquisition and served on the Versant Board for five years. This will allow her to build on her existing positive relationships with Versant team members, making her well positioned to lead the company, alongside the executive team,” says Mark Poweska, Chairman, Board of Directors, Versant Power.

To ensure a smooth leadership transition, Erica will join Versant Power as Acting President on Jan. 1, 2026, through her official start date on May 1, 2026.

“I could not be prouder of what Versant Power has accomplished over the last five years,” said John Flynn. “Our team’s commitment to working safely is second to none, as is our dedication to cost-effective improvements to our grid and supporting technology, so that northern and eastern Maine will experience improved reliability, resiliency and customer experience for years to come. I know Erica will be a tremendous asset to Versant’s employees and customers and congratulate her on this exciting new role.”
