Versant Power plans Machias upgrades affecting service on May 18

Release Date:  05-12-2022

Machias, ME— Versant Power has scheduled maintenance near Bad Little Falls in Machias for Wednesday, May 18 at several times and locations throughout the day. Crews will begin preliminary work that will allow a substation reaching end of life in Machias to be removed.

Versant crews will work near Route 1 and Elm Street to move customers served by the existing substation to other circuits that will prepare infrastructure for transition to a new substation this fall.

The project also will allow Versant Power to re-route power to some customers from alternate electrical circuits once the new substation is complete.  This technique will benefit those customers should their normal power feed be lost.

Planned service interruptions on May 18 will be split into 2-hour intervals throughout the day, from 5:00am until 6:00pm. For a complete list of times and roads affected, please visit https://www.versantpower.com/outages-and-restoration/planned-outages/.
