Versant Power Gives $15,000 to Penquis for Heating Assistance

Penobscot and Piscataquis Counties, Maine- Versant Power recently awarded Penquis a $15,000 charitable donation to benefit their home heating assistance programs.

“With the rising heating costs and overall inflation, this donation is timely and will be vital in helping many individuals and families throughout our service area,” said Kara Hay, CEO, Penquis. “We appreciate this generous donation and will get it into the hands of our friends and neighbors needing a helping hand this winter.”

 “Penquis is a valuable resource to individuals and families in need of services that keep them safe and healthy,” said Versant Power’s Director of Customer Service and Communications, Kendra Overlock. “We know this gift will help Penquis continue to assist community members in need this heating season.”

Penquis is focused on helping families and communities make measurable improvements in five areas: financial security, reliable transportation, stable housing, school readiness and healthy lives and is one of three community partners in Versant Power’s service territory receiving donations this winter for heating assistance programs.
